USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) has begun mailing the 2017 Census of Agriculture to farmers across the nation, as once every five years, this survey aims to get a complete and accurate picture of American agriculture. Barbara Rater, census and survey director at NASS, said the census is aimed at getting a complete count of all farms, ranches and the people who operate them.Â
