Everett Griner talks about cost of grazing cattle increasing in today’s Agri View.
You raise cattle, you have to have pasture. The more cattle you raise, the more pasture land you have. Then, some farmers have pasture land that don’t raise cattle. That is true today more than ever. So it is just natural that the two get together. But there is a growing problem here. It is not a critical issue but renting pasture land is costing more money to cattlemen. Not a significant amount, but it is more. Here is the reason most cattle farmers usually pay more. Beef consumption is on the rise again. Since retail process have leveled off people are eating more beef. It is back at the top of meat consumption list. That stabilizes prices. And it pays the extra pasture rent. That is good for everybody involved.
That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner.
