Getting Citrus Growers HLB-Tolerant Rootstocks
Several citrus growers serving on the Citrus Research and Development Foundation’s board of directors recently said they need to know what citrus rootstocks to use in the face of the disease HLB. They need rootstocks that will allow trees to become productive. Foundation Chief Operations Officer Harold Browning says some rootstocks that have been developed show tolerance to HLB; he suggests ways such rootstocks might get into growers’ hands fairly quickly.
