Following the proclamation by Governor Bob Riley that October is officially “Beef Month” in Alabama, cattlemen across the state are stepping out to promote the product they produce.

This October, county cattlemen’s associations across Alabama will be hosting beef promotion events at supermarkets, festivals, and county fairs. During these events, cattlemen will interact with consumers to let them know that the beef they love to enjoy is a safe, nutrient rich food that they can take pleasure in serving to their families.

“Beef Month is an opportunity for us to showcase our product on the local level while our Beef Checkoff program works to sell beef around the globe all year long,” says Mike Dee of Aliceville, President of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association.

Supermarkets and foodservice retailers are stepping up to promote October as Beef Month as well. Many grocery stores across the state are offering special prices on popular beef products such as steaks and hamburgers as well as other great tasting beef items.
