Lindsey Mann Named 2009 GA Watermelon Queen

Lindsey Marie Mann of Bogart, GA, 2009 Georgia Watermelon Queen Lindsey Marie Mann of Bogart, GA, 2009 Georgia Watermelon Queen The Georgia Watermelon Association is pleased to announce that Lindsey Marie Mann of Bogart, GA,, was crowned the 2009 Georgia Watermelon Queen during their annual meeting at Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf Club in Cordele, GA. As the 2009 Georgia Watermelon Queen, Mann will represent Georgia’s watermelon industry and Association in over 50 promotions in supermarkets, fairs and festivals during her reign as Georgia Watermelon Queen. At each appearance she will educate the consumers and media of the nutritional and economical value of watermelons.

Mann, a 20-year-old student at The University of Georgia, is the daughter of Bill and Sheree Mann. She plays both the harp and piano and often performs at weddings and other special events. Additionally, she was a church pianist for several years prior to moving to Athens, GA to attend school. In her spare time, Mann enjoys reading, traveling, shopping, swimming and spending time with her family.

Additionally, Whitney Leah Connor of Abbeville, GA, was named 1st runner-up. Connor, the daughter of Ronnie and Debbie Connor, attends Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and is involved in numerous clubs and organizations on campus. She is a member of the national FFA organization, the Agricultural Engineering Technology Club, the Student Government Association and The Baptist Collegiate Ministries. In her spare time she enjoys cooking and spending time with her family.

Lauren Elizabeth Hale of McDonough, GA, was named 2nd runner-up. Hale, the daughter of Chris and Lisa Hale, attends Auburn University. In her spare time she enjoys adventure sports, traveling, reading, public speaking, attending social networking events and SEC football.

Additionally, Jessica Morgan Thompson of Pineview, GA, received the Jubilee Award for her good spiritedness by vote from fellow contestant members. Thompson, the daughter of David and Lisa Thompson, attends Mercer University.
