In the first report, Florida Department of Citrus Executive Director Ken Keck says with dollars tough to find for citrus research at both state and federal levels, lawmakers in both arenas look to growers and industry to put up some of the funds needed for citrus research. In the second report, Keck discusses the study by FDOC staff to see if grapefruit taxes for the fresh side can be used on the juice side to help move the large juice inventory in the pipeline. Also in the second report, Citrus Research Coordinating Council Executive Director John Jackson says the global search by some to learn about existing citrus research could help save dollars for other research projects.
