The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) released its 2018 Planting Intentions Report. According to the numbers, there will be more acres of cotton this year compared to last year. It looks like there will be more cotton acreage in 2017, at least if March 31st’s Planting Intentions Report from USDA’s National Agriculture Statistics Service (NASS) is realized. Bianca Pruneda with NASS in Washington, D.C. has the numbers.
The Annual Planting Intentions survey by the National Cotton Council estimates U.S. cotton acres will expand near 10 percent in 2017, compared to 2016.
