We’ve all heard about the various lawsuits claiming glyphosate causes cancer, with two of those cases recently seeing juries awarding large amounts to those who had filed suits against the product Roundup. Bayer just announced they’ve released more than 100 studies on the safety profile of glyphosate, which includes crop protection safety studies as part of being more transparent following their acquisition of Monsanto. And during testimony before a Congressional panel this week U.S. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, knowing the importance of this product for agriculture, made these comments.

Many of the studies were submitted to and evaluated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency during its own risk assessment of glyphosate. Bayer said the information comes from a “strong body of science that confirms glyphosate and glyphosate-based products are safe when used as directed and that glyphosate does not cause cancer.”
