An entrepreneur in every sense of the word, Williams owns and operates a cattle operation when he isn’t busy growing his trucking business. From a young age, Williams developed an appreciation for farming and agribusiness. Following in the footsteps of his father—Andrew Williams, a retired NRCS employee, Williams nurtures his love of the land by conserving, protecting and preserving natural resources on his land.

After earning a degree in Agribusiness Education from Alabama A&M, Williams made his way back home to continue his family’s farming legacy. Over the last five years, Williams has partnered with his local NRCS office to put several conservation practices on the ground while running his 120 acre operation. His cattle business currently boasts 40 brood cows and three bulls. When he’s not busy raising cattle, Williams devotes his time to outreach by hosting field days and workshops on his farm and encourages other young farmers to work with NRCS through programs like the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). Williams’ commitment to conservation and community involvement is why he has been recognized as Alabama’s 2019 Small Farmer of the Year.
