Chadwell Receives Florida Citrus Packers’ Highest Honor

Florida Citrus Packers honored Arthur B. “Duke” Chadwell with its John T. Lesley Award for Excellence, the organization’s highest recognition, during the recent Packinghouse Day.

MAITLAND, Fla. – Florida Citrus Packers honored Arthur B. “Duke” Chadwell with its John T. Lesley Award for Excellence at Packinghouse Day on August 21, 2014. The John T. Lesley Award is the organization’s highest recognition, reserved for individuals making sustained and outstanding contributions to Florida’s fresh citrus industry. The list of recipients reads like a “who’s who” of the Florida citrus industry.

Mr. Chadwell serves as general manager of the Citrus Administrative Committee (CAC), headquartered in Lakeland, Florida. The CAC administers Marketing Order 905, a Federal Marketing Order primarily regulating grade and size standards for fresh Florida citrus.

Mr. Chadwell moved to Polk County in 1984 and became general manager of the Citrus Administrative Committee in 1985. He has been praised as an open and objective leader with tremendous communication skills. Mr. George Hamner stated during the presentation of the award that Mr. Chadwell “has built a career out of developing straightforward and practical solutions to complex problems and gaining consensus through facilitated open dialogue with stakeholders.”
