Bournique: Japan May Need More Florida Citrus After Disaster

Some in Florida citrus initially wondered if an earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan last week might disrupt Florida citrus shipments to the island nation. But Indian River Citrus League Executive Vice President Doug Bournique says indications are that shipments will continue and may actually increase because Japan needs more imported food in the wake of the disaster. Japan is the Indian River district’s largest market.
