New Peanut Cultivars Aliviate Harvesting Logistics

Dr. John Beasly, extension peanut agronomist, UGAIn order for peanut growers to better defend against the Spotted Wilt Virus in peanuts, they have had to move up their planting schedule. Unfortunately, this has created harvesting issues for the many farmers who also grow cotton. Researchers at the University of Georgia are now looking at new peanut cultivars that will allow the farmer to plant earlier without suffering from the virus or inadvertent harvesting logistics.
