Cotton harvestCotton harvest nationally is going at about the same rate as a year ago, but the pace varies greatly among regions. Gary Crawford has the details.

According to USDA, as of this past weekend, Alabama cotton growers had harvested 78 percent of the crop, up 11 percent from this time last year and up 16 percent from the 5-year average. In Georgia, 70 percent of the crop had been harvested, which is up 24 percent from last year and up 16 percent from the 5-year average.
