Meet the Speakers of the Georgia Cotton Commission’s 9th Annual Meeting

The Georgia Cotton Commission’s 9th Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center. The annual meeting is held in conjunction with the UGA Cotton Production Workshop conducted by the Research & Extension Cotton Team.

The meeting speakers will be Reece Langley, Vice President of Washington Operations for the National Cotton Council; Berrye Worsham, President and CEO of Cotton Incorporated; and Mike Quinn, President and CEO of Cotton Growers Cooperative.

Reece Langley assumed his role as Vice President of Washington Operations at the National Cotton Council in 2014. He is responsible for coordinating the Washington activities for the Council, which includes working with Congress and the Administration, to ensure the U.S. cotton industry’s seven segments compete effectively and profitably in the global market. Prior to joining the Council, Langley was Vice President of Government Affairs for the USA Rice Federation. He also worked as a legislative assistant to Congressman Terry Everett (R-AL) prior to working for the USA Rice Federation.

Berrye Worsham is currently the President and CEO of Cotton Incorporated, the research and marketing company representing U.S. upland cotton. Worsham held the position of senior business analyst of J.I. Case Co. prior to joining Cotton Incorporated in 1983. At Cotton Incorporated Worsham has held many positions including Manager – Cotton Analysis, Director of Fiber & Economic Analysis, Vice President of Corporate Planning & Program Development, and Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer. Cotton Incorporated’s world headquarters are in Cary, North Carolina with offices in New York, Mexico, Japan, and China.

Mike Quinn is the President and CEO of Carolinas Cotton Growers Cooperative, a position he has held since 2001. He spent 10 years with USDA before joining Carolinas Cotton Growers Cooperative in 1996 as Vice President of Marketing. Quinn is active in many cotton industry organizations and currently serves as Executive Board Member of the National Cotton Council; Vice President of AMCOT; EWR, Inc. Board Member; member of the USDA – Trade Advisory Committee for Cotton, Tobacco, & Peanuts; and a member of the International Cotton Association.
