Tri-State Peanut Specialists are encouraging peanut producers to write letters to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Tyron Spearman reports the EPA is trying to revoke on food use tolerances for remaining organic phosphates. Peanut producers are depending on two of them to fight Thrips in peanuts. More details have been announced on the crop acreage prediction for this year. However, there has been no certified acres published as of yet. USDFA says it will be after August 22nd. Tyron Spearman gives us the breakdown for the National acreage, as well as Alabama, Florida, and Georgia acreage.
FSA Delays Crop Report Until August 22nd
The USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) has announced it is delaying the release of the Crop Acreage Report for the 2022 crop year. The report was originally scheduled to be released on August 12th. Tyron Spearman gives more details about when the report will be released.
