Dan Conservation, Environment, Florida, USDA-NRCS

USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Florida wants to remind landowners applications for the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) for the fiscal year 2021 will be accepted through March 26.

Samantha Longster with S&S Micro Farm LLC located in Bartow, Florida is a new and beginning farmer who with her husband, started farming blueberries last year. They just entered into CSP to plant cover crops on the rows between the blueberry plants, and she appreciates the level of interest and helps that NRCS has given her.

New Florida Farmer Pleased with NRCS Program

The 2018 Farm Bill continues its strong support for conservation efforts of America’s farmers and ranchers through reauthorization and expanded the flexibility of NRCS conservation programs, and this includes new and beginning farmers. To learn more about CSP and how it can be a benefit to your operation, contact your local NRCS office.
