The expected infusion of scores of millions of extra federal dollars for research into HLB and other citrus diseases has left some wondering how those dollars might be spent. In the first report, Calvin Arnold, director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture laboratory in Fort Pierce, suggests two areas for short-term research that might help growers quickly. Citrus Research and Development Foundation Chief Operations Officer Harold Browning offers his thoughts on uses for the new money in the second report.
