Financial Relief Coming for Dairy Producers
USDA has announced they are implementing the Dairy Economic Loss Assistance Payment program to help struggling dairy producers. Under Secretary for Farm and Foreign Agricultural Service Jim Miller says dairy producers who qualify will receive a portion of the available $290 million of funding to help them with some economic relief.
Dairy Producers Reducing Greenhouse Gas
U.S. dairy producers and USDA have put together a Memorandum of Understanding to accelerate projects in order to reach a 25 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2020. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said USDA will enhance marketing efforts of anaerobic digesters to dairy producers.
