The Georgia Peanut Commission (GPC) is partnering with Georgia Public Broadcasting to educate students about agriculture and peanuts, the official state crop of Georgia.

The two organizations are producing a Live event on Thursday, Sept. 30 at 10 a.m. at the Georgia Peanut Commission office in Tifton, Georgia. It is called Georgia Peanuts: Live Exploration in partnership with GPB Education.

“The purpose of this exploration will be to help students understand Georgia’s agriculture industry, the importance of peanuts in Georgia’s economy, nutritional benefits and lots of other things,” said Hannah Jones, project coordinator-research and education at the GPC. “The target audience will be teachers and students and upper elementary and middle school classrooms. They’ll be aligned with Georgia’s standards of excellence and will serve as a useful classroom resource for teachers.”
