USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Florida wants to remind landowners they are accepting Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) applications for the fiscal year 2021 through March 26.

A couple with a livestock operation in Frostproof, Florida has been pleased with their CSP contract. Arshad and Uma Malik raise sheep and goats on their Polk County farm, and have a CSP contract with prescribed grazing as the enhancement. We asked Uma how they got started with the program.

And Arshad said this program has certainly helped them a lot.

And he encourages others to learn how CSP can help on their operations.

And Arshad credits some of that to the fact NRCS was there to help them with certain projects on their farm. The Malik’s have used NRCS programs as a Socially Disadvantaged Producer for pastureland.

To learn more about CSP and how it can be a benefit to your operation, contact your local NRCS office.
