During the National Association of Farm Broadcasters (NAFB) virtual annual convention this week, U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) Senior Vice President for the Asia Pacific, Joel Haggard, talked with Southeast AgNet’s Randall Weiseman about meat trade with China this year.
If you remember in February, dockworkers and others critical to China/Hong Kong’s food distribution chain were starting to return from their extended Lunar New Year holiday break. Haggard said getting that backlog of imported meat to make its way more into the market was taking place as the COVID-19 Pandemic was taking hold of that region.
