(National FFA Organization)Franklin Middle School FFA of Georgia has been named the 2020 Middle School Model of Excellence winner during the 93rd National FFA Convention & Expo, being held virtually this year.

The National Chapter Award program recognizes outstanding FFA chapters that actively implement the organization’s mission and strategies. These chapters improve their operations using the National Quality FFA Chapter Standards and a Program of Activities that emphasizes growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture. Chapters are rewarded for providing educational experiences for the entire membership.

Franklin County Middle FFA of Georgia identified seven key objectives as they developed the year’s activities. These objectives included increasing community awareness, parent involvement and understanding, and career awareness. The chapter recognized that several members had familial connections to firefighters, so it elected to host On Fire for Safety to educate members on the dangers of fires and their impact, as well as showcase the job duties of firefighters.
