GDA Produce Safety Alliance Holding Virtual Grower Training (GDA)

Clint Thompson Georgia

The Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA) wants to remind producers it will be holding a remote 2-day Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training via Zoom next week, Oct. 21 and Oct. 22 from 8 a.m.-noon. Any producer who grows, packs, harvests, and/or holds covered produce, makes over $25,000 in annual produce sales, and does not qualify for a Produce Safety Rule exemption is required to attend this training under new federal regulations. GDA Education and Outreach Associate, Elizabeth Danforth, says this training will be very similar to their in-person trainings.

This grower training course satisfies the FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirement that at least one supervisor or responsible party for your farm must have successfully completed food safety training at least equivalent to that received under standardized curriculum recognized as adequate by the Food and Drug Administration.
