SAN RAMON, Calif., – Sept. 14, 2020 – Peanut growers now have a new defense against white mold with Excalia™ Fungicide from Valent U.S.A. With mounting pressure from soilborne pathogens, growers need effective tools to manage damaging diseases. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) granted federal registration of Excalia, which offers powerful white mold control, even under heavy pressure, to help growers prevent the yield loss this difficult disease can cause.
According to the most recent Georgia Plant Disease Loss Estimate Report compiled by the University of Georgia Extension, white mold was the most problematic disease for peanut growers, leading to an 8% reduction in crop value on average. This was more than double the loss from the next most serious pathogen, nematodes.
