Georgia Cotton Commission Concerned with China Trade Dispute

While it seems U.S. trade talks with China are a ways from wrapping up, Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue has been trying to assure producers that when an agreement is finally reached, it will be good for farmers’ pocketbooks. When finalized, Perdue said China will be purchasing even more farm goods than it had before the trade dispute began.

But Georgia Cotton Commission Executive Director Richey Seaton says the dispute between the two countries is a big concern to cotton producers.

And while the Trump Administration did recently announce a short-term relief package for farmers hurt by retaliatory tariffs from China, Seaton hopes the trade dispute ends soon.
