The Georgia Farm Safety Program was established in 2013 to develop partnerships and relationships with Georgia Farmers in preparation for new regulatory requirements for Produce Safety under the Food Safety Modernization Act enacted by the U.S. Congress. The Georgia Department of Agriculture is working closely with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in the implementation and enforcement of this rule. Maggie Brown, farm safety education and outreach coordinator in Georgia, has an update on where things stand with the program.
