President Trump to Speak at the 91st National FFA Convention & Expo

The president will be attending the National FFA Convention & Expo on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, during the ninth general session at Bankers Life Fieldhouse and will address the FFA members.

ffa conventionOver time, it is has become a tradition of the National FFA Organization to invite the sitting president to make remarks during its annual national convention and expo.

Former President Harry S. Truman spoke in 1957. Presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter spoke in 1974 and 1978, respectively. Then Vice President George H.W. Bush spoke in 1987 followed by a pre-recorded message from President Ronald Reagan in 1988. President George H.W. Bush spoke in 1991.  First Lady Michelle Obama also brought pre-recorded greetings in 2015, and Vice President Mike Pence did the same at last year’s convention.

Please note that the 91st National FFA Convention is a private event and is a closed convention; therefore, it is not open to the public. Those attending the ninth general session must be registered and will need to show all credentials before entering. Those without proper convention credentials will not be allowed entry into the general session.
The National FFA Organization provides leadership, personal growth and career success training through agricultural education to 669,989 student members who belong to one of 8,630 local FFA chapters throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
