What’s found in 94 percent American homes, is packed in a jar either creamy or chunky, and is a favorite everyday snack or sandwich spread? Why it’s peanut butter, of course. And every year, it gets its own day on January 24. About half of all the peanuts grown in the United States are used to make peanut butter. Runner peanuts, the variety mostly grown by farmers in Georgia, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi, are favored for peanut butter because of their strong peanut flavor and uniform size which makes for an even roast. Southern Peanut Growers encourages everyone to go all in on P-B Day with delicious ideas from early morning to well into the evening. Such as peanut butter donuts for breakfast, grilled peanut butter and jelly for lunch. For dinner, kebobs with peanut sauce.  And, peanut butter milkshakes for the kids. How will you celebrate National Peanut Butter Day?
