U.S. Ambassador Still Hoping for TPP Passage This Year

Getting Congress to take up and pass the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement this year is the top priority of many organizations, including the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and National Pork Producers Council. While some feel it could be considered during the “lame duck” session, or after the November 8 election and the end of the year, others are not so sure. But Ambassador Darci Vetter, chief agricultural negotiator for the United States, told AgNet Media they continue to push for passage of it yet this year.
