Hog slaughter will end 2015 with the second highest level ever, behind 2008. Earlier this month, the weekly hog slaughter was at an all-time high. The fourth quarter of 2016 is expected to have even more hogs than what was seen this year. After reviewing the quarterly Hogs and Pigs Report, Steve Meyer of EMI Analytics says slaughter capacity is becoming an issue.
