Gov. Crist this past weekend vetoed a line item in the state budget that would have provided $1 million for crucial citrus research. Earlier, the governor’s veto of an agriculture bill quashed plans for the Citrus Research and Development Foundation to collect more grower taxes for research. Florida Citrus Mutual CEO Mike Sparks addresses the latest veto in the first report.
