BRONSON TO KICK OFF AG LITERACY DAY BY READING TO STUDENTS IN THE CAPITOL

Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles H. Bronson TALLAHASSEE — Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles H. Bronson will read to two fourth-grade classes from Astoria Park Elementary School at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, in the Cabinet Room of The Capitol to kick off the seventh anniversary of Agriculture Literacy Day.

He will be joined by hundreds of farmers, ranchers, agriculture industry representatives, FFA students and educators throughout the state who will visit elementary schools and read a new children’s book about Florida
agriculture called “Green Florida Farms.”

The Commissioner will be available to speak with reporters after the reading to discuss the importance of Agriculture Literacy Day.

The event is being organized by Florida Agriculture in the Classroom Inc., a non-profit organization funded by the agriculture specialty license plate called the Ag Tag, in an effort to teach young students about the state’s rich agricultural heritage and continuing importance of agriculture in Florida today.
