Staci Braswell Joins FFB Team

Staci BraswellStaci Braswell has joined the staff of Florida Farm Bureau Federation as director of Government and Community Affairs. The division represents Farm Bureau on public policy issues relating to ordinances, legislation and regulations impacting agriculture with emphasis on the areas of water, land use, growth management and environmental regulations.

“I am looking forward to working closely with Farm Bureau members and local government leaders on ordinances and regulations which impact Florida agriculture,” Braswell said.

Braswell is a 2006 graduate of the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law. While in law school, Braswell was a Gubernatorial Fellow working on education policy for then-Governor Jeb Bush. Braswell is also a 2003 graduate of the University of Florida, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, with a degree in Food and Resource Economics, a minor in Agricultural and Environmental Law and a minor in Management and Sales in Agribusiness.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree, Braswell interned with the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences director of Governmental Affairs, where she was responsible for tracking legislation impacting UF/IFAS and developing informational handouts for presentation to members of the legislature.

Prior to being hired by Farm Bureau, Braswell was a prosecutor for the Florida Department of Health, appearing before the Board of Medicine and Board of Nursing Home Administrators on disciplinary matters involving licensees.
