U.S. Peanut Exports are Disappointing
When it comes to the latest report concerning U.S. peanut exports, Tyron Spearman notes the numbers are a bit disappointing.
USDA’s 2021 Peanut Production Numbers
Running through the latest report for the 2021 peanut crop, USDA notes production was at 6.4 billion pounds, which is up 2 percent from the previous forecast and nearly 4 percent higher than the 2020 crop. Tyron Spearman reports the upward revision more than offsets the 70,000-acre decline in harvested acreage.
Georgia Peanut Farm Show Starts Wednesday

Peanut Referendum Continues
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) notes that peanut producers did vote to continue their federal research and promotion program. Tyron Spearman reports in order for the peanut research and promotion program to continue, it must be favored by a majority of peanut producers.
