SE Projects Get Energy Grants

Two Southeastern cellulosic ethanol projects received grants last week from the US Department of Energy. Range Fuels, Inc., was awarded a $76 million grant to fund the research and construction needs of an ethanol plant in Soperton in Treutlen County Georgia. First Wood Ethanol Plant Planned for Georgia

A big announcement was made at the Georgia Agribusiness council legislative breakfast Wednesday morning. Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue announced that Range Fuels, Inc., a Colorado-based cellulosic ethanol company, will build Georgia’s first wood-based cellulosic ethanol plant in Treutlen County.
