A recent collaboration between Auburn University, University of Florida and University of Georgia hoped to expand the use of alfalfa into forage-livestock production systems in the Southeast. Earlier this year, the Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES) released the “Alfalfa in the South Online Series”, which contains information on topics related to establishment and management through environmental impacts and economics of alfalfa systems.

Extension specialists in Alabama, Florida and Georgia hope to expand this work. They would like help in gathering information that will be used to develop more effective research and education programs across the region. As part of the collaboration, they have released a multi-state survey with the target audience being hay or beef producers who have planted or are interested in planting alfalfa in the future.

The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete, and all information will be kept confidential to the extent allowed by applicable State and Federal law. Click here to access the survey.
