The 2018 Southern Peanut Growers Conference is celebrating 20 years this week, with their annual conference kicking off today (July 19, 2018) and running through Saturday (July 21st, 2018) at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Miramar Beach, Florida. The three-day event brings together peanut farmers and industry partners from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi to discuss peanut production, legislative issues, marketing and more. Along with his counterparts in Alabama and Florida, Georgia Peanut Commission Executive Director Don Koehler helped to organize the first conference 20 years ago. And he looks at some of the topics being discussed at this year’s event.
