Tree leaves may not necessarily be the next up and coming superfood. But that doesn’t mean people won’t be curious to “treat” themselves to a little adventure every now and then.

Trees and shrubs with trees or shrubs that are safe to eat include Linden, Moringa, Mulberry or Hawthorn. Linden trees are commonly found lining city streets. Their leaves are said to be tasty, along the lines of salad but with a bit more mucilage in the texture. Hawthorn tree leaves are well-regarded for their medicinal value, particularly with cardiovascular issues. While almost every part of the Moringa tree – lovingly referred to as the “Tree of Life” is edible, many people just stick to the leaves. Good thing since they’re packed with high levels of iron, protein, calcium, potassium, and vitamin’s A and C. Mulberries grow in a wide-range of climates, and they provide a crazy amount of fruit to enjoy. But their leaves, when young, can also be eaten along with the tasty fruit surrounding them. It’s recommended that you boil them first.
