Florida Agriculture in the Classroom, Inc. (FAITC) is pleased to announce, effective February 15, 2017, Rebecca Sponholtz will be its new Executive Director. Sponholtz has been with the organization since June 2013 as Education Program Manager and will provide a seamless transition in this next phase.
“I am very excited about the opportunity to continue to educate youth and adults about the importance of Florida agriculture and help this important industry share their message.” said Sponholtz.
As a former Agriscience teacher and FAITC’s Education Program Manager, Sponholtz is ready to use her knowledge and experience to continue working hard to increase agricultural literacy in K-12 education in Florida.
“On behalf of the entire Board of Directors for FAITC, we are thrilled that Becky will be our next Executive Director. Her past experiences and devotion to our program make her a perfect fit. We look forward to continue working with Becky in all aspects of our program,” said FAITC Chairwoman Carol Roe.
Florida Agriculture in the Classroom is a non-profit organization that is able to educate Florida teachers and students about where their food, fiber and fuel comes from using lessons, materials, grants and other programs because of the funding it receives from sales of agriculture specialty license plate called the ‘Ag Tag.’ It is governed by a board of Florida agriculture industry directors from around the State.
