What is the future of agriculture? Or perhaps I should ask with the way things have gone in the last decade and with getting a start in the lifetime of farming so costly will we have enough young people to keep the world of farming as productive as the world needs it needs to be? Some doubt it. But the future seems to be in good hands. Look at it this way. One hundred plus bushels of soybeans per acre, not news anymore. It is to frequent. So is 200 plus bushels of corn. Maybe 2 to 3 bales of cotton. Not all farmers are producing such yields, but they all would like to. And most are trying. The average of farmers is now 57. They are getting older. No reason to fear, that hasn’t changed in a decade. There are plenty of young farmers to carry on. And, everything in the future points to it continuing.

That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner
