Most people including half of the farmers in America couldn’t even guess how much farmland we have. I couldn’t either, but I have it on paper. Nine hundred-eleven million acres. That’s in the lower forty-eight. Now twenty-five percent of that does not produce crops. It is pasture land. It is a well-established that the biggest crops are corn, wheat and soybeans. Next is rice and cotton. Now here are some other interesting land facts. Half of the planted farmland is rented. The bigger the operation, the more land that is rented. But here is the shocker. Thirty percent of all of the farmland is owned by people that don’t farm at all. A lot of those multi-million dollar athletes put money into land. People like that. It is considered a very sound investment. And finally, ten percent of all the land I have mentioned will change owners by 2020. How much do you own?
