There is no solution as to what causes colony collapse disorder, but to those studying the problem and looking for a cure, they are convinced it is a series of problems. And, they feel that the two most significant problems are pesticides and parasites. Farmers must have pesticides in order to produce a successful crop. The problem will not end. But, beekeepers have found that better care can reduce their losses. One producer in California has reduced his losses to about 10 percent annually. The general loss range is about 30 percent. His method of saving his colonies is not a simple effort. It requires a whole new system of development. But, if it works for him, it should work for others. How many are willing to try?

That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner.
