citrus-expo-25th-anniversarThe 25th anniversary of Citrus Expo is just a week away, and growers will not want to miss this year’s seminar program, themed “Now Is the Time.” Topics to be addressed include HLB management, incentive opportunities, bactericide use and more. We’ve told you before that continuing education units (CEUs) will be available. But to update that, the number of CEUs available this year has increased.

The total number of CEUs for attending the 2016 Citrus Expo seminar program has been increased from 6.5 to 8.5. These CEUs are good toward the renewal of a Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services restricted-use pesticide license. The reason for the increase is due to the fact that not all parts of the program were confirmed when the CEUs were originally requested. The breakdown of CEUs is as follows:

• August 17, Wednesday morning session: 3.5 CEUs
• August 17, Wednesday afternoon session: 2 CEUs
• August 18, Thursday morning session: 3 CEUs

The CEUs can be applied to either private or ag tree crop categories.

So plan now to attend Citrus Expo, August 17-18, at the Lee Civic Center in North Fort Myers. To learn more, go to citrusexpo.net.
