The Best of the Best Farmers Markets will depend on who you ask – or nowadays which smart phone or tablet APP you search. The Daily Meal-dot-com ranked the Best 101 Farmers Markets in This Land of Ours.

Topping the list is California’s Santa Monica Wednesday Market, followed by Union Square Green Market in New York City, Portland State University’s Farmers Market in Oregon, and Green City Market in Chicago. Those closer to home include Charleston Farmer’s Market in South Carolina which was ranked 12th. Georgia Atlanta Farmer’s Market and Peach Tree Road Farmers Market, also in Atlanta, coming in 39th and 41st place respectively. Alabama Farmers Market in Birmingham #43. Other notables ranked in the top 101 included Statesboro Farmers Market in Georgia, Green Street Farmers Market in Huntsville Alabama and Third Street South Farmers Market in Naples Florida, which came in 99th place. Daily Meal bases its rankings on quality and variety of products sold, by affordability public endorsement and recognition each particular farmers market receives.
