ADAI Clean Sweep Program Pesticide Collection Days in September

From the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries:

Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries in cooperation with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, are conducting two agricultural pesticide collection days, one to be held Wednesday, September 3rd in Baldwin County and another on Thursday, September 4th in Henry County.

The ADAI Clean Sweep Program allows farmers, pesticide applicators, pesticide dealers, pest control operators, and nurseryman, at no cost, to bring up to 1,000 pounds of unwanted pesticides for safe and environmentally sound disposal. Products that will be disposed of include pesticides, insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, and rodenticides. Products that have lost registration, have illegible labels, are out of date, or any of the mentioned products that you cannot use, are eligible to be disposed of through this program. This proper disposal allows individuals to protect their health and the health of their employees as well as protect personal property and the environment.

Remember, there is no charge for disposal up to 1,000 pounds of material, and there will be no questions asked as to why you have any product.

Farmers, pesticide applicators, pesticide dealers, pest control operators, and nurseryman interested in participating in either of the Clean Sweep Program collection days, need to complete the form available at www.agi.alabama.gov/forms/pesticide-management-forms.
