Florida Students Win State Speech Contest

From USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service in Florida:

Students ages 15 to 17 from Okeechobee, Manatee, Gilchrist and Jackson counties in Florida competed at the state level last Saturday in Ocala, Fla., during the annual Association of Florida Conservation District meeting. Students had won first place in their local Soil and Water District contests and then their regions to earn a spot at the state-level contest. Speeches were six to eight minutes long and judged on content, composition, and delivery.

Winners follow:
1st Place, $500, Alisha Erozer, from Lakewood County
2nd Place, $250, Andrew Smiley, Okeechobee County
3rd Place, $150, Christine Rowe, Gilchrist County
4th Place, $100, Hailey McDaniel, Jackson County
