Southeast AgNet's Everett Griner

AgNet Media is happy to let our audience know that Everett Griner, host of Southeast AgNet’s popular “Agri-View” daily commentary, is back home and recovering now after a mild heart attack last week at his home in Moultrie, Georgia. Everett is fondly known among AgNet team members as the Granddaddy of Southeast AgNet. He hosted AgNet founder and president Gary Cooper to his farm’s barn loft studios way back in the late 1970’s when Cooper was fresh out of college, to discuss and introduce him to the concept of commercial farm broadcasting. A few years later, in the mid 1980’s, Griner joined Cooper’s new farm radio network venture and has been farm broadcasting on Southeast AgNet airwaves ever since.

On a related note, click here to read an article Everett recently authored for his hometown’s Moultrie Magazine. It has some interesting historical perspective about Everett and his years of service in the various arms of the military, during two different major wars in American history. Other than his military years, Everett has spent most of his professional life in radio, and more specifically, connected to farm broadcasting.

In fact, we here at AgNet believe Everett, now at age 87, may be one of, if not THE longest consecutively airing farm broadcaster in the nation at this point. At least nobody has been able to prove that wrong yet that we know of. He’s been referred to as “the Paul Harvey of Agriculture Commentary”, although we can’t pin down exactly where that saying started. Everett says he had some of his Agri-View programs ready in advance luckily, and he plans to be back in the studio soon to keep his commentary tradition going!

Take-R-Easy Ev! You’ve Earned It! We’ll be happy to have you back in service, but happier that you have a full recovery and are doing well in the meantime. If you want to send Everett a message, please click here and send us an email that we can pass along.
