Dan Citrus, Crop Forecasts, Florida, General, Industry News Release

(Southeast AgNet, Ocala, FL, September 23, 2013) The annual Citrus Crop Forecast from USDA’s National Agriculture Statistics Service (USDA/NASS) will be broadcast “live” for the 19th consecutive year at NOON Friday, October 11 on Southeast AgNet Radio Network and at www.southeastagnet.com.

Southeast AgNet is again the exclusive radio network source for this “live” coverage, first begun in the mid 1990’s at the request of Florida growers wanting access to the forecast estimate at the same time as all others. This year USDA moved the time of day for the release to NOON, to better accommodate growers nationwide. Live coverage will also air this year for California growers via www.agnetwest.com, a radio network begun by AgNet Media in California during the summer of 2012.

Southeast AgNet founder and president Gary Cooper will again anchor the broadcast from Peace River Valley Citrus Growers Association’s membership luncheon in Arcadia, FL. Several other gatherings around the state will bring growers together to tune in to the exclusive live network broadcast.

Labor Solutions, Inc. (www.laborsolutions.com) and Farm Credit of Florida (www.farmcreditflorida.com) are again co-sponsoring “live” network coverage, which will feature the report from USDA/NASS and Florida Agricultural Statistics Service. A website audio test and printable fill-in-the-blank form will be made available in advance online in the citrus news category at the network’s website, at www.SoutheastAgNet.com.

Southeast AgNet, Inc. recently merged all areas of its operations into AgNet Media, Inc. to better reflect multi-media growth that now includes two farm radio networks, one in the deep southeast and another in California, Citrus Industry magazine, Pest Pro magazine, and several websites that will soon be combined for efficiencies and better service to the farm audiences they serve. Meanwhile, www.SoutheastAgNet.com and www.AgNetWest.com remain the company’s two primary news portals, both are updated daily with multiple farm news headlines..
