Funds Approved for PEDV Research

It was announced by the National Pork Board that they approved 450-thousand dollars in Checkoff funds to help expedite research to find answers to the Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus. NPB funds, along with money provided through the Iowa Pork Producers Association’s research committee, means a total of 527-thousand dollars is dedicated to PEDV research. NPB President Conley Nelson said NPB took this action to help get answers to U.S. producers as quickly as possible to help protect their herds from this devastating disease.
