BCAP Offers $ Help to Forestry & Other Ag for Biomass Development

Gary Cooper Energy, Florida, Forestry, General

Florida USDA/FSA State Director Tim Manning continues to make the rounds to present information about the Biomass Tim ManningCrop Assistance Program (BCAP). Addressing Florida Forestry Association members at their association’s annual meeting today, Manning says more than 24-thousand public comments were submitted about the BCAP program recently. There appears to be great interest in this program designed to help producers establish new biomass crops or get them to biomass facilities. Significant funding is anticipated for helping landowners, loggers and processing facilities, as part of the nation’s effort to reduce its dependency on foreign oil. The BCAP final rule is scheduled for publication sometime this fall. More information is available through local FSA offices throughout the state and the state office is located in Gainesville.
